The much loved department store at Gracechurch shopping centre will undergo a full interior refit, as well as introducing a brand new childrenswear department and new premium brands across beauty, womenswear, menswear and fashion accessories.
The significant investment will see House of Fraser Sutton Coldfield increase the size of its menswear and beauty floors, with new flooring and lighting throughout. There will be a new ground floor café and the second floor restaurant will be upgraded and redecorated.
The ground floor will boast a new fully glazed shop-front with the concealed street level windows being exposed to create a brighter and more contemporary look. The new floor layouts will create a more effective use of space and create an opportunity to bring even more premium brands to Sutton Coldfield.
The ground floor will also see the launch of an exciting new Caffé Botanico. The café will offer an extensive menu of Mediterranean food, great coffee and will also be serving Prosecco and cocktails throughout the day making it the perfect spot for an aperitif. The interior will be contemporary with a twist of Italian tradition with the use of Carrara marble, wrought iron furnishings, large dining tables and stylish sofa seating throughout.
The department store’s beauty hall will be significantly transformed with the introduction of new luxury brands, as well as the expansion of the fashion accessories department which will nearly double in size.
Menswear and womenswear will undergo a full modernisation with new flooring, lighting and fitting rooms, with new premium brands and labels being introduced across all categories.
Work on the department store has already started and House of Fraser will remain open during the refurbishment. The project is due to be complete in autumn 2017.
Chris Brain, store manager at House of Fraser Sutton Coldfield said: “House of Fraser is undergoing its first major refurbishment since the 1980s. Our vision is to create a premium department store and to bring new brands to Sutton Coldfield.”
