House of Fraser, Shrewsbury, has today (Thursday 20th October 2016) completed a major refurbishment programme following a significant investment to the store’s interior, as well as the introduction of various new premium brands across departments and a new café - Wild Mint. The contemporary café is now open on the second floor and will serve traditional English afternoon tea, a selection of cakes, breakfast and lunch.
The prestigious department store has increased the size of its womenswear, menswear and beauty floors, with new flooring and lighting throughout, as well as exposing windows to allow more natural light in to the store. The new floor layouts create a more effective use of space allowing for even more premium brands to be introduced to Shrewsbury.
House of Fraser’s new beauty hall: The department store’s beauty hall has been significantly transformed with the introduction of new luxury brands, including Origins and La Mer, two brands which have not been available in the town until now.
House of Fraser’s new fashion accessories and womenswear departments: Womenswear has launched eight new brands, including Hobbs, Oui, Gant, Barbour Lifestyle and Hal Huber to name a few. The fashion accessories department has also nearly doubled in size, with new handbag brands including Fossil, Ted Baker and Barbour.
New menswear department: Menswear has undergone a full modernisation with new flooring, lighting and fitting rooms along with new premium brands and labels including Tommy Hilfiger and Dune Shoes.
House of Fraser Shrewsbury’s heritage: The town’s department store dates back to the Della Porta Department store which traded on this site from 1926, it was purchased by Hide & Co in 1948 but still traded as Della Porta. In 1975 it was purchased by House of Fraser who rebranded it Rackhams, today it now trades as House Of Fraser.
